Description: This course will cover the functionality of the Google environment including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Slides. Each module below will be covered to the level of detail needed to use the program effectively.
To ensure success in the class, students should have some experience with any Google Product.
Google Gmail is used to compose an email message, applying the sending options, and sending the email. When you receive email, you must review and file it in a Label which often times can be automated. Filtering email is also a big component of Google Gmail which includes flagging a message with a star and adjusting the importance behavior. There are many settings available to improve productivity and the course will cover these most important items. Google has added a series of intelligent tools that include how to file, identify and categorize email. Understanding these tools is vital to your productivity and success.
Google Calendar is used to manage daily tasks, schedule meetings, maintain organization, and can also be synchronized with mobile devices. You can view your calendar from your desk, on the road, at home, and on your mobile phone, even when you're offline. It has all the features you would expect from a calendar program.
Google Drive allows you to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The interface allows you to load, save, rename, and share these applications. Each application can be shared with anyone in the world and documents can be simultaneously edited. Google Drive represents an evolution in the way documents are stored, shared and edited.
Google Sheets is a program used for math operations. It can provide a layout in columns or rows, with cells running in a web browser. The layout is similar to other spreadsheet programs. This course will focus on learning the commands, functions, navigation, and available operational features to be more effective and productive in the work place.
Google Docs is a web-based document processor program used to write letters in a page by page layout. It can also perform this capability in other stand-alone word processing programs. This course will focus on creating a document, as well as learning the available commands, navigation, and operational features.
Google Slides is a program used to present information to a group. All presentation development is done in a web browser, and it’s capability is very similar to other presentation programs. This course will focus on creating a presentation, as well as learning the commands, navigation, and available operational features.
